Replacing a Store Manager PC

Replacing a Store Manager PC

This documents how to replace an existing RMH Store Manager PC with a new one, assuming that the new one has been created using an image specifically created for this purpose.

Update RDP Credentials

  • Run Remote Desktop Connection (mstsc.exe)

  • Modify the username and password. By default, the existing username will be shown without a way to edit it. Click the “More choices” button and then “Use a different account” to be able to modify both the username and password

    image-20250814-223438.png
    • Username should be AMI\{STORENUM}Manager where {STORENUM} is a 3-digit number (zero-padded). For example, the username for the Wentzville store (store number 48) would be AMI\048Manager.

    • See your password vault for the password

  • Click “Save” in the Connection Settings section.

Add Manager Active Directory group to local Administrators group

Each store has an AD group for its managers, usually named <full store name>Manager (i.e. MexicoManager). Add this group to the local Administrators group. If you can’t find the group, check with someone with permission to create it. Otherwise, store managers will have to enter their AD credentials every time they start RMH Store Manager.

Configure RMH Printer

  • Start RMH Store Manager

    image-20250814-230323.png
  • Login. MERS IT typically uses a User ID of 5 to login. Check your password vault for the password.

    image-20250814-230428.png
  • After Store Manager starts, click Setup then Hardware then Register List

    image-20250814-231051.png
  • Double-click on register number 11 (Description should be “Store Manager PC”)

    image-20250814-231303.png
  • Go to the Receipt Printer 1 tab

    image-20250814-231417.png
  • In the Windows device name field, enter the name of the printer (as set in Windows) to be used by the store managers to print their Z reports. If the printer has not been added to Windows yet it is suggested to use a generic name like “Office Printer” so that if it is ever replaced, the new printer can have the same name and RMH won’t need to be reconfigured.

  • Click Save And Close and then exit RMH Store Manager
